RE: Numbers Don't Lie
Not arguing but, you would need the numbers to reflect the first month each game was out.

Im sure The first Socoms will win still, but the number wont be as ridicules.

I agree the older socom were better.

RE: Numbers Don't Lie
Don't worry, I'll update the numbers each week, but you know it won't do better than Combined Assault.

RE: Numbers Don't Lie
I think it might beat out CA and 3 eventually.

Guess we will have to wait and see.

RE: Numbers Don't Lie
I was so jaded by SOCOM 3 that I didn't even realize Combined Assault was released until someone posted sales while S4 was in its beta phase. It's funny, thinking it was the PSP version, I was confused why they even included it on the list.

RE: Numbers Don't Lie
Since numbers don't lie, I'll reply back with numbers...
And remember, you chose to ignore how long SOCOM 4 has been on store shelves, so I will in turn ignore how long previous SOCOMs have been on store shelves. :)

Number of weeks SOCOM 1 has been out - 468 weeks
Number of weeks SOCOM 2 has been out - 390 weeks
Number of weeks SOCOM 3/CA has been out - 280 weeks
Number of weeks SOCOM 4 has been out - 5 weeks

Number of units sold, divided by weeks on the market....

SOCOM 1 (3.44M) - 7,350 units sold on average per week
SOCOM 2 (2.65M units) - 6,795 units sold on average per week
SOCOM 3/CA (2.81M units) - 10,035 units sold on average per week
SOCOM 4 (0.35M units) - 70,000 units sold on average per week

Numbers are a funny thing. They are not immune to opinion, therefore, they can easily lie depending on how they are presented.

SOCOM 4 has been out for 5 weeks. 3 of which included a PSN blackout.
And also note that Combined Assault was an expansion of SOCOM 3. CA was S3+ some. But it's easy to single it out as a complete stand alone, especially when needing to incorporate it in a nice little graph.

I think you should use your graphic skills to help the community get a SOCOM Legacy, rather than try to make SOCOM 4 look as bad as possible.

RE: Numbers Don't Lie
Just think how many socom 2 remakes would sell right about now.

According to the op, maybe not as much as a SOCOM 1 remake.

"The farther away from the SOCOM formula the less it sells."

Looks like SOCOM 2 sold 800,000 less copies than SOCOM 1. I guess the OP's opinion is that SOCOM 2 was a deviation of the original formula, and as a result, sold less.

RE: Numbers Don't Lie
Sales after four weeks.

SOCOM : N/A
SOCOM II : N/A
SOCOM 3 : 450,083
SOCOM CA : 221,336
Confrontation : 351,897 (1.08M total)
SOCOM 4 : 351,160

So if you average the above data total sales end up being 4 week totals x 3.1 which means S4 is to hit 1.08M, around the same as Confrontation.

MAG : 591,700 (1.15M total)

Now if you want to throw Zippers other game MAG into the data pool for shits and giggles drop that average down to 4 week total x 2.8 and S4 sells 983,248.

So based on past data it looks like SOCOM 4 total sales are going to end up being just slightly above or below a million, based on past history of SOCOM and Zipper console game sales. What reality will bring ultimately who knows but it doesn't look all that good.
